You know, I can understand that you want to defend your religion. But when you go to the lengths of creating a whole other page just about Candy, her comments and your opinions of her, I think maybe you have too much time on your hands.

Just a thought.

Ya think?

what about Candy who links to pages and pages of this stuff, carefully putting in the small codes for her side bar, and linking to all of that stuff. Not to mention her regular tirades. How she fits that all in with her bread making, yogurt developing and hours of exercise while homeschooling is beyond me!!!

BTW Jenny, you're a regular over at Candy's. Would you tolerate her rhetoric if she were anti- fat people? Or what if she told mothers who mourned miscarriages to just suck it up and get over it? Would you find that to be equally as acceptable as Catholic bashing?

I am a regular to her site as well as many others, for VARIOUS reasons. I agree with some of her thoughts on Catholicism, but I do consider her a Catholic basher, nor do I consider myself that. That being said, she is targeting a group, you are targeting a person. If I thought she were "anti-fat people", etc I wouldn't keep going back to her website. Maybe that's something you should consider.

BTW, I read your blog every day, same as hers. The only difference is this was my first time commenting here.

Excuse the type-O...I do NOT consider her a Catholic-Basher.

Well, she might be anti-marriage. According to her husband's blog, they didn't legally marry, because they don't feel the state has the authority to marry people.

Which is kind of funny, in a way, because the Pilgrims thought that because marriage isn't a sacrament (to them) that it was solely a state function.

I don't think this page is just about Candy. It is Elena's way to be able to respond to what Candy puts on her page, because Candy doesn't allow Catholics to respond to her points.

I, personally, do not care if Candy thinks all Catholics are going to burn in hell. What I do mind, is that she is constantly wrong when she says "Catholics believe ______" and she won't let anyone correct her.

A while back, she agreed with Dr. Gipp when he said that the Catholic Church has always opposed the doctrine of salvation by grace. I sent her a link to the paragraph in the Catechism where the Catholic Church says that we are saved by God's grace.

Surely, there are enough things to condemn the Catholic Church for without making things up.

Of course, I'm not surprised that Candy things Catholics believe crazy things, because she attends a Baptist church. Let's look at the FACTS about the Baptist "church":

1. Baptists have created an idol of the Bible and worship it. They carry their idol with them at all times, because they believe if they die without it, they will be condemned.

2. Baptists believe that John the Baptist was greater than Jesus. That's why they named themselves after him. If they thought Jesus was greatest, they would call themselves "Jesusists."

3. The original American Baptists were adamantly opposed to any sort of non-independent churches. Therefore, the Southern Baptist Convention is the Whore of Babylon. Frank Page is the anti-Christ.

4. Because we know that the American Baptists are really part of the Whore of Babylon, we realize that the original Anabaptists were the true Christian Church.

5. The root of Anabaptist is "anti-Baptism" therefore, we know that the true Baptist church is opposed to any baptism, whatsoever.

6. The true head of the true Baptist church is Júlio César Baptista, forward for Real Madrid. His nickname is "the Beast," so we know that he is the anti-Christ.

This is exactly as true as Candy's FACTS about the Catholic Church. It would be funny, if she were joking.

Touche Kelly!

Jenny, perhaps the reason you don't think Candy is anti-Catholic is because you share her views. I assure you, that they are indeed anti-Catholic. I don't think you would put up with any type of ridicule, but for some reason, slurs against Catholics are tolerated by those in the Cult of Candy.

LOL! I wonder about the same things.

Kelly, I mentioned the very same things twice before. I agree with you.

Lady, I give you full credit. I thought your claim really bizarre, so I checked around on her blog, found the link to her dh's blog, and low and behold, you were right!

They are two people with very unusual beliefs, to say the least.

For the record, I said I agreed with some of her thoughts, not all. So, please, unless you know me, don't label me.

Well, I've said my peace. You've said yours. I guess now I just agree to disagree.

I guess so. I don't know how you can defend Candy and all of the stuff she says about Catholics, and then denies us the chance to respond to the charges, but not consider yourself anti-Catholic but okey dokey. If it helps you sleep better at night...

I found that very odd that they weren't legally married, too. They developed their own legally binding contract which will prohibit them from ever divorcing. So, if her husband cheats on her or tries to kill her, she can't divorce him.

Now, I know there are some people that don't believe in divorce (it being a sacrament and everthing). However, if you are a non-Catholic, BIble believing Christian, there is the fornication clause. God provided that clause for a reason, yet Candy and her husband see themselves wiser than God and came up with a way to stay legally married no matter what. THat wreaks of arrognace to me. It appears to me that they think they know better than God in this area. BTW, according to previous posts, Candy does believe there are biblical instances for divorce.

If I may make a suggestion for this blog? That isn't a very good picture of Candy. Maybe it isn't necessary. It appears that you are making fun of her appearance. I know you probably got that from her blog because homemaking bloggers love to take pictures of what they are wearing without showing their face. It think this usually makes them look silly and immodest. Just, IMO.

Thanks
