Why the Catholic Church?

I have asked Candy why she focuses on the Catholic Church when there are other churches which also do things which she finds objectionable. She allowed the comment, but didn't answer it.

This Orthodox woman is clearing worshiping an icon

Although St. George in Eisenach, Germany is famous as being the first Lutheran Church in that state, I'm sure no one would consider kneeling before these graven images

Oops, maybe not, as you can see some Lutheran's kneeling at the Berlin Cathedral

But surely this all pales in comparison to Episcopalians wearing mitres, signaling their worship of the fish god

Edited to add this breaking news! Dwight Longenecker reports that a Baptist church in his town has a Sacred Heart of Jesus statue. Say, isn't Candy a permanent guest at a Baptist church? I guess it's okay to have an idol, just as long as you don't kneel before it!

This is as good a place as any to put this comment, I guess. Does anyone else remember the church hopping her and her husband did a while back? It seemed like every week they were trying a new one - this one used the wrong bible, this one had the wrong music, this one had women who dressed too immodestly. What a pain in the...well, let's not go there. Is it just me, or was that odd?

And I can go to any Catholic church in the world, know what is going on, and join in worship, without pause. Thank you Lord for that gift.

Yep, you can read all about that in her old blog http://genuineprofit.lifewithchrist.org/index.html. Look through the March/April 2006 posts.

She is quick to call other denominations "cults" - for example, one Sunday they visited a Church of Christ and later "discovered" that it was a cult. *rolling eyes* Basically anything is a cult if they don't follow the Doctrine of Candy Brauer.

Yes, this is one of the many things I love about being Catholic. We just moved and will have no problem finding a Catholic church. I know what will be taught and I know Jesus will be truly present. The closest parish is only about 2 minutes down the road from our new home!
