Mommy Life: What does it mean to be pro-life?
Most of the comments so far have been very supportive, but she has had one so far that is not:
I appreciate the Catholics' consistent pro-life position, and I think they should be commended for it.
I scratch my head, though, at how you can wrap your head around some of the other doctrines, for example, the Mary business. She was not immaculately conceived, she did not live a sinless life, and she does not have extra grace to dispense to us. Nor, for that matter, do the other fellow believers that have been declared "saints" whose excess virtue we can supposedly receive for our salvation. We should not be praying to them. They are sinners, like us, saved by Christ's merit, and no one else's.
It seems to me we can be 100% pro-life and yet avoid these doctrines which completely contradict the gospel. How do you reconcile these fundamental RC beliefs with Christianity?

Wow! It won't get the national coverage of Francis Beckwith's conversion, but I bet it'll be bigger news in this corner of the blogosphere.

What a great day! I am always so excited for people joining our Faith. A friend of mine is converting and taking RCIA she is on fire with the love of our Lord.

The poster, Marie, has recommended "Roman Catholicism" by Loraine Boettner. Is she unaware of the distortions, falsehoods and poor scholarship of the work?

This is off of the subject, but does anyone follow "Reasons for Our Hope" on EWTN? I am looking for a Bible study to possibly do with some other women in my church. I was just wondering. This one has interested me of late. Thanks.
kitterc, I saw Jeff Cavins on "Journey Home" with Marcus Grodi last night on EWTN. One of the things they were talking about was "The Great Adventure, a Journey Through the Bible" at greatadventureonline.com. It's a Bible study developed by Mr. Cavins.
I'm thinking of purchasing
"A Marian Bible Study:Bringing Scripture to Life for Moms" by Laura Wells. It has great reviews, is women-oriented, and is affordable. Written by a Marine wife stationed in Okinawa, I did a double take on that one.
