I start RCIA this week and I can hardly wait to print out some of the "articles" about Catholicism and show them to my RCIA director. (Who is a lovely, devout woman filled with the love of Christ. She was also my daughter's second grade teacher last year.) If the anti-Catholic post start, I should be very ready to answer back in a kind but fact-filled way. :)

Is anyone else feeling a discord between the rational post about celebrating Christmas, and the condemnation of the earlier thread on the "pagan symbols" of the Church which was so ugly?

I'd post that question, but since I am banned (for asking how manufacturing a link on someone's post is an honorable Christian thing to do), I can't.

At the risk of starting a Candy bashing, which is not my intention, I will just say that she believes what she WANTS to believe. She makes the bible "say" what she wants it to say. She makes things mean what she wants them to mean.

That is the danger of her site. I've visited the sites of many of those posting comments and many - not all, but many - are young in years and in Christianity. They are looking for guidance, support and reasons. Unfortunately, they find her and something resonates. So, they keep coming back and taking on more of her doctrine. And make no mistake, what Candy posts is HER doctrine and nothing but.

The post may have been rational, and there wasn't any bashing. For that I was honestly surprised. But, since she has already stated that she will be discussing pagan symbols, rational will go out the window again very quickly I am sure.

Sadly, Jesus himself could appear to Candy and try to set her straight and she would not even then listen. Candy does NOT want to hear anything but what Candy wants to hear and you could show her evidence upon evidence to dispute her and she would still not believe. All we can do is pray for her and for those who would be guided by such ignorance and follow up here with the truth and leave it in God's hands.

OK...I've read the discourse a few times, and it has no surprises.

Did ya'll see the "horns" on Mary's head and under her feet? Or did we see the crown of 12 stars, the moon under her feet, and the gold of the statue as the "clothed with the sun?" See Rev 12:1 for the text upon which the image is based.

The symbol on the "false" (read non-KJV) Bible is an ancient symbol for the Trinity, the three-in-one. Kind of an early "Venn diagram" used to explain the mystery of the Trinity.

I wonder how the readers would respond if the Biblical connection were made available to them?
