Is Baptism Necessary?

We just covered baptism last month, in this post.

You really can't get more clear than 1 Peter 3:21, which states "The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ."

Thanks for stopping by, Grace!

I thought what you wrote was very logical and well written. At least she read it, even if she didn't publish it. And hopefully other people will follow the link to your page and read it as well.

My comments aren't being posted either. A couple were, then some arrogant rebuttals, then I became a horse beater. Then again, I had the nerve to question both Candy and her husband, and to call them out. Some questions asked that were tossed aside rather than answered have apparently made me an animal abuser.

I suppose it is much easier to be passive aggressive with snide remarks and then and run and hide then to actually answer the question.

Wait...the horse beater comment was to you, perplexity? So the "you're not saved, I am"...comment was to you? How would she know that one way or another? Who is she to presume to know who is or isn't saved? how arrogant?

Yes, Maggii, this was directed at me:

For the other, because you are beating a dead horse. You're not saved, I am. You have no idea what salvation is like, yet you try to chalk it up to something meaningless, or no different than other religions, That is pure falsity. When one becomes a Christian, God's very Holy Spirit itself comes to dwell within the believer. Jesus is ALIVE. Jesus is THE way, THE, truth, THE life, and THE only way to heaven. Jesus Himself tells us this on John 14:6. Praise His Name.

It came about through several comments, on several posts. Ultimately, I said something about disagreeing with her exclusiveness and said that I believed Catholics to be Christian and that there is no difference between "religions" as far as God is concerned and she is not special because of what she believes. I said I thought it was rather arrogant of her to believe that she is especially saved while others who believe differently are not. The same old argument.

Because of that, it means I am unsaved. It means, apparently, that she can see into my heart and know what my relationship is with God. As usual, it is about her, not me. She is saved, I am not. Whatever.

Wow....thing is, it's comments like that that lead her to have no credibility whatsoever. Or the line in her latest post stating that her IQ literally went up by 20 points after she read the KJV? Like, how can she state that?...did she get tested before and after? why? who would think to do that?
She makes these outlandish comments and
unfortunately there are quite a few who believe what she says hook, line, and sinker and that is scary.

Maggii, was this the same place where she said she was 17? Because when I was in school (and I'm about the same age as Candy) we had IQ tests every year as part of regular school testing.

I think it is very possible that the vocabulary boost from reading the KJV Bible, plus a year of schooling herself could have made a big change in her test results. IQ is difficult to measure, and tests tend to lean heavily on vocabulary.

and these were official IQ tests? I do recall having those yearly fill in the dots tests each year but I don't think they were actual IQ tests...

My son had the Stanford/Binet when he was a child...he was tested for a gifted program...it was a very controlled test...not the same as what I had in school. There was a lot more involved.
