Grace is what you need!

"You don't need to be a member of any earthly church organization. You don't need anyone telling you what the Bible means, because God made it clear enough "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet..." You don't need sacraments, catechisms, traditions, rituals, or any other type of work to get into heaven. FAITH. That's it. That's all you need. However, your faith must be properly placed. If your faith isn't in Christ, and Christ alone, then you are setting up idols in your heart. " Candy- Keeping the Home

Grace is what you need to be saved. Without grace, faith would get you no where, and faith without works is DEAD. So think a little!

Matt. 16:18 "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it."
- Jesus promises the gates of Hades would never prevail against the Church. This requires that the Church teach infallibly. If the Church did not have the gift of infallibility, the gates of Hades and error would prevail. Also, since the Catholic Church was the only Church that existed up until the Reformation, those who follow the Protestant reformers call Christ a liar by saying that Hades did prevail. From Scripture Catholic.com

The Bible tells us that we need someone to explain the Bible to us-

Acts 8:27-40 "So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian eunuch, an important official in charge of all the treasury of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians. This man had gone to Jerusalem to worship, and on his way home was sitting in his chariot reading the book of Isaiah the prophet. The Spirit told Philip, "Go to that chariot and stay near it."
Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. "Do you understand what you are reading?" Philip asked.
"How can I," he said, "unless someone explains it to me?" So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him."

I am getting tired but will go through the rest of her statement later.

This blog challenges me to be able to articulate my faith and my position as well as you do!!

What do you mean by the church being infallable, if you don't mind me asking?

And pardon my ignorance~ Were the members of the first churches in the Bible considered Catholic?

Thank you for being willing to answer my questions.

I love the atmosphere over here!

Sincerely, Jennifer

Jennifer sr.-
Thank you so much for stopping by. I will try to point you in the right direction to get your questions answered.

"What do you mean by the Church being infallable?"

-First, that is a quote from ScriptureCatholic.com, not my own. Just wanted to get that out up front, I sited them in the post if you take a close look. Second I do believe that the Catholic Church is the original Church set up by Christ on earth and that it is infallible.

Here is a good place to read up on the infallibility of the Catholic Church and the Pope.

http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/07790a.htm
Please read the article carefully since it is very lengthy and has many references.

To read about the Catholic Church as the True Church set up by Christ
Please read this:

Thank you for your interest in learning more about the Catholic Church. I hope I have answered your question, if not feel free to ask more.

Candy confuses me. She claims no denomination, the bible is the only Church, but on her daily schedule yesterday or Tues. she had going to church services in the evening. I also do not understand how she and her husband officiated at their own wedding without any minister or JP. Is that a legal marriage? Of course, she won't acknowledge any of my comments.

Thanks Erica, I am just starting to look at the first link. It is very unfamiliar language to me, so it may take me some time to get through it. It's good, it's stretching me and challenging me to know what I believe.
