A word of caution

Candy has put up a Send Candy a Note button.

In the past, some of us who have made comments to her heavily censored forum, found that our words turned against us, heavily edited, and even the meanings changed. One of the reasons I started this blog was because many untrue things were said about my comments and so I wanted to have an accurate public record.

Unless you can get a copy back into your e-mail box about what you really wrote, I would be hesitant to use this Send Candy a Note button.

I agree with you Elena, if we need to say anything about what Candy says it is best to say it here where she can't turn our words against us. Excellent point Elena!

Proving once again that changes do not last long in Candyland, it appears that the "Send A Note" button has been removed and the comment section is back up. Wonder if your warning prompted that. I guess we'll never know.....

This will proobably get me banned but I couldn't take it anymore. Here is the comment that I left on Candy's blog:

```````````````````
The question to you some time ago by another reader was something like "Have you ever attended a Catholic Mass?"
Your answer was this:
"A Yes. It was so sad and gut wrenching that it almost brought me to tears. I was the only one attending, that I could see, that brought a Bible, and even bothered looking up scriptures. The Bible ignorance in that crowd was astounding me as well. Most of them don't seem to read their Bible, they just follow what 'the church' teaches them. Everyone there looked to me like they were wearing masks with no eyes. :-( I suspect that there might have been more true reverence (as opposed to ritual) in a black mass (however they'd be worshiping the wrong guy, of course)."
You claimed that you "do not know their hearts", but in this answer DIRECTLY from your own blog posting you sound as if you think you DO know their hearts. This is just one example of why so many Catholics become upset with many things that you put up on your blog. Of course, it would be impossible for your blog readers to look up in your archives to see that this is really what you wrote about a Catholic Mass because you have removed access to your previous posts except the ones that it appears you want your faithful followers to read.
I do not hate you, but I dislike how you distort what the Catholic Church teaches even after Catholics prove to you that many things that you write about the Catholic Church are incorrect. You are free to believe what you want to, but you are NOT free to lie about what others believe.
I will be interested to see if you post this. I would like to say, for the record, that although I know this comment sounds harsh I mean you no hate or bad feelings. You are my sister in Christ. I wish you all of the Joy in the world. But I truly wish that you would focus on uniting Christians rather than dividing them. There are SO MANY other problems in the world......
And did you see the STUNNING answer?
I quote here: (a direct cut and paste)
"The "inside" info I was getting about the others was not my reading hearts. I was getting that information from the Holy Spirit.
You see, born again Christians REALLY DO have God's very Spirit indwelling them, and ~gasp~ God speaks to His believers. It's often the "still small voice" as the Bible puts it."
See.....it's NOT Candy deciding. It is the Holy Spirit, speaking directly to Candy, so that only she can hear. No mention of discerning if that voice she hears is truly the Holy Spirit, or a demon speaking to confuse her. It fits what she wants to believe, so she "hears" it straight from God's own lips. [Do you hear the incredulity in my voice?]
Every man (and woman) her own seer and prophet.
Yea well I have that small voice too. I fact one day earlier this year I was sitting in front of my computer and I heard it whisper, "Visits to Candyland is a good name."
Elena, seems to me Ms Candy is allowing comments and when I look at the comments it doesn't say the usual (banned by webmaster) at the top... so maybe she is actually willing to take some comments finally???
Yeah, but for how long? And how long will she leave them there before she goes through and edits them?
Oh well, do what you can while you can!
Sophia, good point. I myself have no desire to post to Candy but I would say if you do then also come here and write exactly what you wrote to her so it goes on record in case she takes your words and spins them.
Does "doing God's will" sound like "works" to any of you all. If you are doing something in the name of God, is that not a "work?" How does anyone conveniently forget that "faith without works is dead? Is that really open to multiple interpretations? I thought it was pretty straightforward myself. Do you suppose Candy feels that her posts on religion are the "will of God?" Would that not be considered a "work?" I'm thinking "spiritual works of mercy here. What about all the other paces she puts herself through that she tells herself and others are necessary to be a "Godly woman" or whatever term she uses to describe it? Wouldn't those be "works" if one believed they were necessary or fulfilling God's will? Is there a huge disconnect here? Am I being obtuse? How much time do any of you devote to thinking about how "wrong" someone else's doctrine is or might be? Am I wrong in wondering how this plays into the "pride/humility" issue? How, how, how can one possibly judge a doctrine to be correct or incorrect if one does not even know or understand the doctrine? Why is it that I always have more questions than answers after reading Candy's site?
I just posted this at Candy's site:
It's very clear to Catholics with basic knowledge of their own doctrine that you know not of what you speak. I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with you sharing your love for our Lord, sharing your faith and how you express it. However, when you "compare and contrast" what you believe to be "true Christianity" with your complete misinterpretation and misunderstanding of Catholic doctrine, you do a very, very grave disservice to people who read your site. I believe you'd be well-advised to stick to talking about what you know, your own faith, rather than posting false representations of Catholic doctrine. I know you have stated that your husband "was Catholic" and I guess you feel that makes you knowledgeable in some way about Catholic doctrine. I can and will and have tried in the past to assure you that you are wrong. I understand that is not something you want to accept but, nevertheless, there it is. You are quite mistaken about what you post about Catholics and Catholicism. If you must "compare and contrast" your faith with Catholicism, at least have the integrity to represent the doctrine truthfully. There are many very good, very accessible sites you could use as references or to research the "actual doctrine" of the Catholic faith. There is no credibility in using as resources other sites which distort and misrepresent Catholic teaching. I am not in any way, shape or form asking you to believe our doctrine to be true. I'm simply asking that when you discuss it, you present it as it is.
I've never had a comment posted. Every single time I've attempted, I've been banned. It seems she's let many comments through on this last anti-Catholic post. I'll be interested to see how long she continues to try to answer them.
I cannot assume to know her motivation for allowing my comments and others to go up, but I also cannot help but wonder if it has something to do with the whole Homeschool Blogger Award "controversy". Of course she is only following the Great Commmision. Of course she allows Catholic Ladies to comment. Too bad all of her archives are gone so that people can't see what she has posted and how she has acted on previous occasions. Like the "Elena and her Minions" post. Or the "Are Roman Catholics really Christians" post. Like I said, I cannot assume what her motives are. But I can WONDER what she is doing right now.
I loved the "conspiracy" comment that she left for me too. ;)
Candy says's to one poster ( I don't know if your saved or if you really hear the holy spirit) but we are to take Candy at her word that she hears the holy spirit? I would like to say.. Candy, how do we know you hear the Holy Spirit? Because you say so? Well, Catholics hear the Holy Spirit as well... if we must take you at your word ... do we not deserve that same respect?
