Honestly, as a Catholic, I must admit that at first I was offended by the stuff about Catholics. But as I came here for avice about home keeping, and love what you have to say about it. you have some really fantastic ideas! So I take what I need from this site, and leave the rest. After all it is your blog, you are absolutely entitled to what you say. I may not like all of it, but that is the beauty of clicking on things, if I don't like it, I don't have to read it. But I will continue to read the home keeping stuff as I think you are talented in it. I wasn't born for that stuff I have to work at it, but your ideas help me balence my own struggles to keep organized.

Interesting perspective Robyn.
Candy has a nice homemaking site. But there are lots of places on the net that are not vicious and hateful towards your Catholic faith where you can get the same and even more information! Check out some of the fine links in our side bar under the home management binder link.

Two of the spiritual acts of mercy are to admonish the sinner and instruct the ignorant. You're hardly doing anyone any favors when you "click" away from things you don't want to read because they make you uncomfortable. I think gleaning ideas from an anti-Catholic site because they help you in your own organization struggles is a bit selfish. Patting yourself on the back at said site is probably sinful.

I hesitate to post this comment because it might be construed as being bitchy about Candy. If so, I apologise.

I've noticed that when ever she posts about Roman Catholicism she receives comments from people who don't appear to have commented before - certainly their names are not regulars. These comments have very similar tones, and often there's no website. In this latest post I can pick out perhaps three like this.

Has it ever occurred to any one else that these commenters could be Candy in disguise?

Keep up the good work.

Yes Anne-Marie, more than once!

OH YES anne-marie!! When she has a commenter who says "I am a former Catholic" but you notice they NEVER have a site?? No way.. too convenient!!

I comment, and I don't have a blog. I am a real person, but don't feel called to write in that way. That isn't the warning sign for me; it's the similarities and the lies in which the author of KTH has been caught that makes so many of the 'attagirl' comments suspect.

It's crossed through my mind too. I also wonder whether all these "Catholics" she refers to are real ones or ones like me (who clearly isn't a Catholic).

Oh ya, these people suddenly come out of the woodwork when she posts anti-catholic. I also noticed she has lots (of whatever) ... then it turns out to be ONE. Hmmm.. She also stated a former Catholic.. then when she is called on it being told AGAIN this person was never catholic.. she just crosses it out instead of taking it down.. like.. you SAY you were not.. but *I* know you really were and i"ll just scratch thru it.. afterall.. people will see FORMER CATHOLIC and not really pay attention to the crossing out.. it speaks louder that way. Brain washing at its finest!

Wow. A spur of the moment comment (yes my first and yep I do exsist!) and I find one to me on another site I found spur of the moment!! wow. I don't think I'm doing any back patting though, I'm merely searching for organizational help, as I'm in nursing school and need all the help I can get these days. I just don't like all the argueing. I was hoping to just get back to the home stuff and not have anyone yell at me or try to "save my soul from hell" or whatever she says. I only didn't know this was here. I wish i had known, I was led to search for the anti-candy site today after re reading everything. ( I just can't buy that a God of love would condemn anyone who did love him because they were not saved or whatever she says.)Boy am I glad to find you! This is so great, and since I didn't grow up in the faith, i do have a few questions. And when i did find this site who could believe a comment was aimed at me? Not I for one!

I'm sorry that I didn't "admonish the sinner and instruct the ingnorant", but I could never win a Bible arguement over there. I picture a old west kind of duel with her pulling a Bible instead of a gun at the word draw! (sorry vivid imagination and lack of sleep ) I also don't feel I know enough to instruct anyone, I
just hate the fighting...

Welcome Robyn,

Believe it or not, I hate fighting too. But sometimes it's necessary. I hope that you can find some of the answers you seek here or in some of the links. Feel free to ask questions too.

Candy loves to "convert" Catholics and as you say you weren't brought up in the faith you might want to beware of reading there. If you need organization help, please the check the side bar. There are lots of good tips there.

I doubt I will read much over there anymore, now that I know you exsist. I simply had no idea. My husband is the brought up in the faith. I was Episcopal and converted when we married. How nice to find a site that doesn't think I'm going straight to hell because I don't embrace all that saved stuff.
I will check out the other stuff, with school being so hard, I have very little free time.

Robyn,

No one on Earth knows if anyone at all is in Hell. That's up to God. God can forgive anyone at any time. Even Judas. Even Hitler. His love transcends everything.

In the Catholic tradition, even those who've never heard of Jesus but try on their own to live righteous lives do have a chance to attain Heaven. They don't have an automatic ticket to the nether world. (I wonder what Candy would say about them?)

I'm really glad you found your way here, and I am totally in agreement with you. There's no way to instruct the ignorant when there is no opportunity to present information and let people research, pray and decide for themselves. I tried (even tried to be nice) and just found myself on a path toward depression...not good for me, my family or anything else.

I've worked with Muslims, Jehovah's Witnesses, Jews, Baptists, Methodists, Lutherans, Mormons, agnostics, atheists...and found nearly every single person to be willing to present information and answer questions as long as respect was part of the equation. I'm 45 years old and I've never encountered hostility like I've seen at KTH anywhere else in my life - all ten moves and three countries' worth.

I am glad you found your way here. There are tons of great homekeeping blogs out there that have zero hostility...For example, I have a Christian friend who's a military spouse She blogs on the topic of living on one income and has teamed up with two other SAHM's to help people with home organization and stewardship, so I know it can be done without the condemnation and misinformation.

I could use a huge dose of home organization help myself, so I know just how you feel about very little time and huge amounts of work. I hope you'll feel refreshed here - Elena, Kelly and Erika work hard to present true Catholic teaching and answer questions.

(And...when those dust bunnies seem huge...think of me...their clones live in my family room!)

I believe she said somewhere that if people haven't heard of Jesus (and therefore haven't had the chance to reject him) and they try to live a good life and believe they are not sinning even when they sin then the sin won't be counted against them.
